A two-car crash that took place on a Texas highway on March 4 resulted in the deaths of two people. The fatal motor vehicle accident happened along Old Jacksonville Highway in the Flint-Gresham area. At about 6:17 p.m., a 30-year-old man driving south in a truck crossed over the center line near County Road 140 and struck a northbound SUV head on.
As a result of the crash, the 41-year-old woman from Flint who was driving the SUV was declared dead at the scene. An 18-year-old man from Bullard who had been sitting in the front passenger seat was treated for his injuries at a local hospital before he died. Two other passengers in the SUV, a 15-year-old girl from Flint and a 17-year-old boy from Bullard, were treated at the hospital for their injuries. Their condition was not reported.
The accident caused a shut down of the roadway while crews worked to clear away the wreckage. Following the accident, the Department of Public Safety issued a warning to drivers to use extra caution while road conditions are wet. It is unclear what factors investigators believe may have led to the fatal highway crash.
