A four-vehicle accident in Texas on Dec. 13 resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. Before he was killed, the 49-year-old victim had been on his way to Kings Trail Cowboy Church’s ‘Project Christmas’ to deliver toys. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene of the accident.
The fatal crash happened along State Highway 78 in Blue Ridge. A 31-year-old woman who was driving southbound in an SUV struck another car from behind that was turning off the highway. Following the initial collision, the SUV spun out of control and hit a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the northbound lanes. Reports indicate that a fourth vehicle also became involved in the wreck.
State troopers working on the investigation say that the driver of the SUV may have been traveling at unsafe speeds before the crash. She was transported to the Medical Center of McKinney in an unknown condition. The driver who was rear-ended and the driver of the fourth vehicle did not require treatment at a hospital. There were no reports of any criminal charges being filed after the crash.
A wrongful death claim could be filed by family members of a motorcyclist who was killed in this type of accident. While pursuing compensation in a wrongful death claim, many families decide to hire an attorney. With legal assistance, an attorney could help a family gather evidence related to the fatal accident to support their claim. A family who has recently lost their loved one could receive a fair settlement from the liable party.
