2 cars collide in rural Texas, killing 2

A two-car crash in central Texas has caused the death of two men. The accident happened in Erath County on U.S. 377 near the small town of Bluff Dale.

Police received reports of the motor vehicle accident at approximately 1 a.m. on Oct. 19. The accident appeared to unfold as a 2009 Honda Civic traveling northbound swerved into the lanes occupied by oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with a 2009 Jeep Patriot. The Department of Public Safety has not reported any reason why the collision may have occurred, but they observed that the roads were dry and clear at the time of the accident.

The man driving the Honda Civic, a 27-year-old restaurant manager from Plano, was not wearing a seat belt at the time. He passed away from his injuries at the scene of the accident. The man driving the Jeep, a 57-year-old senior street department manager for the city of Dallas, was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. He also died a short time after the accident. A passenger in the Jeep, a 63-year-old woman, was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth for treatment. There was no statement describing her condition. The two people in the Jeep had been wearing seat belts.

The family of anyone who has been killed in an accident might wish to pursue compensation for the death of their kin. The loss of the financial and emotional support that the deceased should have been able to provide if not for the neglect of another can be considered worthy of financial reparations. Members of the family may choose to consult with a lawyer about methods of obtaining redress, which could include filing a civil suit over the wrongful death of their loved one.
